Manuela (she/her) is committed to creating a world where mental health is not stigmatized, and where young women of color in particular are able to receive the support they need to thrive. In her current role with the Huntsman Mental Health Foundation, and past roles with The JED Foundation, Manuela has played a critical role in advancing mental health initiatives and suicide prevention efforts nationwide. Manuela’s journey began with personal experiences of anxiety and depression during her college years, culminating in a pivotal moment of seeking help during the COVID pandemic. This experience led her to a deeper understanding of the importance of mental health support, especially for young women in communities with high levels of bias surrounding mental health, and inspired her to pursue a path of advocacy and change. Today, Manuela aspires to embody the openness, empathy, and community support that are essential for a healthier, stronger society.
