Inspired by his intrinsic curiosity and a deep commitment to educational equity, Alejandro (he/him) has devoted his career to improving educational and social services for children and adolescents. As an educator and lifelong student himself, Alejandro is currently in his third year of doctoral studies in Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University, where he lives alongside his husband and their two beloved cats. Before transitioning to a life in the United States, Alejandro’s work in Colombia included public policy advocacy, organizational development, and designing a virtual course on trauma-informed practices for early childhood development, which hundreds of professionals across Colombia have completed. Aspiring to create more equitable and inclusive classrooms, Alejandro hopes to collaborate with educators and institutions to combat racism in schools and promote compassion and collaboration through student voices and perspectives.
