We are excited to announce the members of our second SOCAP cohort!

In 2018, Byron Fellowship Educational Foundation announced a special partnership with Social Capital Markets (SOCAP), sponsoring members of the Byron Alumni community to participate in a curated experience through the annual SOCAP conference’s Social Entrepreneurs Scholar Program. Recipients of the scholarship have the opportunity to pitch and receive feedback on their ventures during the Impact Accelerator, and receive mentorship through a one-of-a-kind “dream meeting” during the conference among investors, entrepreneurs and social impact leaders.

Intentionalist

Laura Clise, 2018 Fellow

At Intentionalist, we believe that where we spend our money matters. Our online platform connects consumers to small businesses and the diverse people behind them. Through our directory, guides, and events, we make it easier to identify and support small brick and mortar businesses owned by women, people of color, veterans, families, members of the LGBTQ community, and differently abled people. Intentionalist helps to close the gap between what we care about and what we’re able to do about it, so that we can all contribute to vibrant and inclusive communities through everyday decisions about where we eat, drink, and shop. #SpendLikeItMatters

CompostNow

David Paull, 2017 Fellow

www.compostnow.org

CompostNow is a compost pick up service for homes and businesses. We exist to divert food waste from landfills and build soil for local farms and gardens. We make it easy and fun for people to compost whether you live in an apartment or home. Our vision is to close the loop on food waste by empowering community members and local businesses to divert their compostables from the landfill and, instead, use those nutrients to build nutrient-rich soil. Closing the loop on food waste is imperative in building healthy soil, creating resilient, local food systems, and fighting climate change.
