Kristine (she/her) finds joy in helping people expand their awareness of the natural world and ecological processes in everyday life. Whether leading tree walks or encouraging friends to listen for frogs in wetlands, she thrives on reconnecting people with the wonder and resilience of nature. After a 16-year career as a hairstylist, Kristine enrolled in a graduate program in Environmental Science at DePaul University, and was recently chosen as the new Conservation Project Manager at Friends of the Chicago River. Known for her role as a connector and teacher, Kristine’s journey is guided by her desire to contribute positively to the world and help others experience transformative “lightbulb moments”. Kristine envisions a more conscious and connected society, where individuals apply ecosystem-informed approaches to broader social and environmental challenges, and hopes to foster a more resilient, just, and healthy world through intentional imagination and community collaboration.
